Congratulations to Jim and Rhonda Hubbard! The compensation for this blunder should damn near break the permanent fund. Jim Hubbards' integrity has been harmed. His family and business most likely have suffered through all of this. Good luck and good fishing F/V KRUZOF.

Yes!!!! Once again, the State oversteps it's boundaries. Congratulations Jim and Rhonda! In our minds their was never any doubt.

For all people who are going to sit here and sling mud at this commercial fishing couple....all I can say is WATCH OUT! They could be coming for you next. We all see the regulation that is being heaped on the commercial fishing industry by the day thanks to the State of Alaska, NMFS ect, ect.

Don't think you are above it. Have you read your federal register today?

I hope you can recover your legal fees and costs!!!

Finally! The state does owe the Hubbard's for this. What a shame. I hope the State apologizes officially. They need to support, not hamper, fishermen who want to direct market.

Some State employee should lose a job over that Witch hunt.

Not everyone may agree with those that claim the Hubbards were victims. Being found not guilty is not the same as being innocent. But the system has spoken. My guess is that this prosecution, no matter if it was not supported by the evidence, WILL serve as a deterrent to those who might be tempted to bend the rules. For those who think that these defendants should be entitled to some sort of compensation, it's not going to happen unless they can show some vindictive motive that includes malice. And it simply is not present. The Hubbards should thank their lawyer and move on. DPS and the AG's office do not like to lose and will be watching them very closely in the future.

It is refreshing when people you have known for years and thought were good people, good fishermen, and good business people, are cleared of charges. Their reputations are intact to me.

Very good news to two outstanding representatives to small Alaskan fishing families and businesses. I am sure the Hubbards can bounce back even stronger. Shame on the State.

In view of the facts of this case it is amazing that the states attorney would even consider going to court. Makes no sense at all!! Personal vendettas financed by the states department of law? As that is exactly what this was all about and the however the states lawyer could not figure this out..... Not only that there is absolutely no economy to scale that would support the Hubbards motive to avoid paying fish tax! The money that was paid out in bringing this case to trial should be charged to the mental midget that brought it forth!!!
